Ian Black runs a public stable based at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. The horses are based at Woodbine Racetrack during the racing season which runs from April until December. During the winter months some of the stable moves to Payson Park Training Center, in Stuart, Florida. The remainder of the horses train at Kinghaven Farms in King City over the winter months and are supervised by Ian's assistant trainer and son-in-law Jeffrey Bowen
